Dr. Kristy M. Kurtz earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida in 2004, Her Master of Science degree in Audiology from Central Missouri State University in 1999 and a Bachelor of Communication Disorders degree from CMSU in 1998. She began her career in 1999 with Starkey Labs in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She has since worked for Resound Corporation as a field audiologist; as a clinical audiologist for Ear Nose and Throat Physicians in Minnesota and Overland Park, KS; and finally as a private practice audiologist in Atlanta, GA and Warrensburg, MO.
In 2009, Dr. Kurtz opened a private Audiology practice, Northland Hearing Associates in Liberty, MO. Also in 2009, Dr. Kurtz joined forces with Mid America Balance Institute where she evaluates patients with balance disturbances. In June of 2011, she began a satellite operation of audiology services at Excelsior Springs Medical Center in Excelsior Springs, MO. Dr. Kurtz is licensed by the state of Missouri as an Audiologist.
Dr. Kurtz believes in a very individualized approach to rehabilitating hearing loss for adults. She has extensive knowledge in a variety of hearing aid technologies and is committed to making her patients hear better in a variety of listening environments by making personalized recommendations and ensuring that each client achieves desired outcomes. Dr. Kurtz believes in the importance of awareness of the consequences of untreated hearing loss. She regularly holds informational hearing seminars and strives to educate and ensure that hearing impaired individuals are making informed decisions regarding hearing healthcare.
Dr. Kurtz is originally from Sedalia, MO, however currently resides in Kansas City with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time you can find her on the trails with her Tennessee Walking horse or reading a book!
